Description

A quick and flavorful garlic butter shrimp recipe made with fresh garlic, butter, lemon juice, and perfectly cooked shrimp. Ideal for weeknight dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prep the shrimp: Pat dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the skillet: Warm olive oil and 2 tbsp butter over medium heat.
  3. Sauté garlic: Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant (don’t let it brown).
  4. Cook shrimp: Add shrimp in a single layer. Sauté for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  5. Add butter and lemon: Stir in remaining butter, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes.
  6. Toss & finish: Coat shrimp evenly in sauce. Remove from heat.
  7. Garnish & serve: Sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve hot with bread, pasta, or rice.

Notes

  • Don’t overcook shrimp—they turn rubbery quickly.
  • Adjust lemon juice and red pepper flakes to taste.
  • For extra flavor, deglaze the pan with a splash of white wine.
