  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 8 cheeseburger bombs 1x

Ingredients

Scale

For the Filling:

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 lean)
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated flaky biscuit dough (8 count)

For the Garlic Parmesan Butter:

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven – Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
  2. Cook the Beef – In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it into small crumbles with a wooden spoon. Cook for 6-8 minutes until no pink remains. Drain excess fat.
  3. Season the Meat – Add Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the cooked beef. Stir well and cook for 1 more minute. Remove from heat and let cool slightly for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Prepare the Biscuits – Open the can of biscuit dough and separate into 8 individual biscuits. Flatten each biscuit with your hands into a 4-5 inch circle, creating a slight well in the center.
  5. Fill the Bombs – Place about 2 tablespoons of seasoned beef in the center of each flattened biscuit. Top with about 2 tablespoons of shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Seal Completely – Carefully pull the edges of the biscuit dough up and over the filling, pinching and twisting to seal completely. Make sure there are no gaps or the filling will leak out. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Make Garlic Butter – While assembling the bombs, melt the butter in a small bowl. Stir in minced garlic, parmesan cheese, parsley, and salt until well combined.
  8. Brush with Butter – Generously brush the top and sides of each cheeseburger bomb with the garlic parmesan butter, making sure to coat them well.
  9. Bake – Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through. The cheese inside should be melted and bubbly.
  10. Final Butter Coat – Remove from oven and immediately brush with any remaining garlic butter. Let cool for 3-5 minutes before serving. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Ground Beef – Lean ground beef (80/20) provides the best balance of flavor and moisture without being too greasy. You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option, or use plant-based ground meat for a vegetarian version.
  • Refrigerated Biscuit Dough – The secret shortcut ingredient! Flaky butter biscuits (like Pillsbury Grands) work best because they’re sturdy enough to hold the filling. Avoid thin biscuits as they may tear.
  • Cheddar Cheese – Sharp cheddar adds bold flavor, but you can use American cheese for classic cheeseburger taste, mozzarella for extra stretch, or pepper jack for a spicy kick.
  • Garlic Butter – Made with real butter, minced garlic, and parmesan cheese, this coating is what transforms these from good to amazing. Don’t skip this step!
  • Worcestershire Sauce – Adds savory depth and umami to the beef. It’s a key ingredient for that authentic burger flavor.
  • Seasonings – Simple salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder season the meat perfectly. Feel free to add your favorite burger seasoning blend.
