Description

This easy Air Fryer Calzones recipe gives you golden, crispy turnovers filled with gooey mozzarella, savory pepperoni, and flavorful marinara sauce. Perfect for a fast weeknight dinner or a family-friendly lunch, they’re quick to make and endlessly customizable.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup cooked pepperoni or sausage (optional)
  • 1/4 cup ricotta cheese (optional)
  • 1/4 cup sliced bell peppers or mushrooms (optional)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning (oregano, basil mix)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Cooking spray or olive oil (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness.
  3. Cut dough into 4 equal rectangles or circles.
  4. Spread 2 tablespoons of marinara sauce on one half of each dough piece.
  5. Layer mozzarella, ricotta, cooked meats, and veggies on top of the sauce. Sprinkle Italian seasoning.
  6. Fold the dough over filling to create a half-moon shape. Press edges firmly with a fork to seal.
  7. Brush the tops with beaten egg or olive oil for a golden crust.
  8. Place calzones in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them.
  9. Air fry for 8–10 minutes until golden brown and cheese is bubbly.
  10. Let cool a few minutes before serving.
