Description

Crispy, golden Air Fryer Apple Fries coated in warm cinnamon sugar make the perfect healthy snack or dessert. Ready in just 15 minutes with minimal cleanup!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 34 medium apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith work best)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, prevents browning)
  • Cooking spray or oil mister

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for 3 minutes.
  2. Prep the Apples: Wash and core the apples, then cut them into fry-shaped wedges about 1/2 inch thick. If desired, sprinkle with lemon juice to prevent browning.
  3. Make the Coating: In a large mixing bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix well until evenly combined.
  4. Coat the Apples: Add apple wedges to the bowl and toss gently until all pieces are evenly coated with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  5. Arrange in Air Fryer: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange apple fries in a single layer, making sure they don’t overlap. You may need to cook in batches.
  6. First Cook: Air fry for 4 minutes at 380°F.
  7. Flip and Finish: Carefully flip each apple fry using tongs, then cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Serve Immediately: Transfer to a serving plate and enjoy while warm for the best texture and flavor!

Notes

  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket – this prevents proper crisping
  • Cooking times may vary slightly depending on your air fryer model and apple thickness
  • For extra indulgence, serve with caramel sauce or vanilla yogurt for dipping
  • Best enjoyed fresh and warm, but can be stored for later enjoyment
