- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, prevents browning)
- Cooking spray or oil mister
Instructions
- Prepare the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for 3 minutes.
- Prep the Apples: Wash and core the apples, then cut them into fry-shaped wedges about 1/2 inch thick. If desired, sprinkle with lemon juice to prevent browning.
- Make the Coating: In a large mixing bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix well until evenly combined.
- Coat the Apples: Add apple wedges to the bowl and toss gently until all pieces are evenly coated with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Arrange in Air Fryer: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange apple fries in a single layer, making sure they don’t overlap. You may need to cook in batches.
- First Cook: Air fry for 4 minutes at 380°F.
- Flip and Finish: Carefully flip each apple fry using tongs, then cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve Immediately: Transfer to a serving plate and enjoy while warm for the best texture and flavor!
